Is it the drivers licence? It is gigantic! I thought it's (like in Switzerland) in the credit card format.

No, a learner's permit. He will have that for a year, then will take another, harder, test for his driver's license. The permit he carries has to be torn from that piece of paper, or he'll fold the paper to put in his wallet.The permit and the license are same size as a credit card.

Ah, then it is similar as in Switzerland. You don't need to do a second test but as a newbie you have a probationary period of one year. During this time, you must not make 'mistakes'.

Hahaha...um, no. Even his dad won't buy him a car, but he does get to drive the old Toyota pickup or the car of whichever adult will be with him. We had our first trip last weekend and he did great.

My country will cost 3000USD for driving license.
It costs about 60 USD renewal fee once every three years.

And complain that the car does not sell.
It is crazy !

What? $3000? That is horrible! How can any young person afford that? But, that is a great incentive to use public transportation.
