Summer in America

Summer in America
This photo and the previous one are based on shame and anger. They aren't meant to be good photos. For clarification, please refer to: tinyurl.com/yd6ufryn

Now we hear on the news that there has been no organized identification, cross-matching and tracking system to get the children back with their parents. And, in a panic, those "in charge" (?) have sent hundreds of children all over the country to shelters and foster homes. Many are too young to reliably even give their parents' names, much less any other information. Ordinary citizens are showing up at airports to help, based on tips that children are arriving in their cities. One couple has raised nearly $18 million for setting up a system and eventual transportation to reunite the families, since the Immigration dept. does not seem to have done so. Donations continue to increase as the shock and outrage spreads across the country. I will have to say this: MOST who are shocked and dismayed are not Republicans, though some of those are at least moderately bothered by it. Particularly politicians up for re-election this November.

This is the most severe moral failure in the United States since Japanese-American incarceration in WWII.

There are hundreds of attorneys offering pro bono help with immigration and other problems in the USA, all because of one mentally deficient man who claims this is all the fault of others.

I heard here in Australia that the US Govt intends to hold people on unused/underused military bases.

Yes, that was one proposal off the top of someone's head. It's all so chaotic that we can't believe anything right now, which is why ordinary citizens are showing up at airports when they have heard that some kids are being transported. United Airlines is now refusing to transport children of immigrants. If anything changes the minds of a few of the ape's worshipers, this will be it, though I don't count on it. Donations are literally pouring in to several experienced immigrant legal aid charities.

This evening we heard that separated children have been given to families all around the country and there is doubt that there are enough records to track them so they can be reunited with their parents in the future...

Diane Putnam club has replied to GrahamH club
There is indeed doubt about the ability to track who has gone where. This will get MUCH bigger in legal ramifications before it's done. Several states - one of them Oregon - are now suing the federal gov't to stop transporting either parents or children, among other demands. A case will be made regarding inflicting intentional trauma on children, as well. (AKA child abuse.)

States in the joint suit are: Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Minnesota. New York has filed its own suit.

Waiting for November. (Mid-term elections, when states vote for Senators & Representatives. The goal is to unseat Republicans and elect Democrats.)

Diane! you say that this photo is not meant to be a good photo.
Well, in my opinion it's much more !

I think you have conceived and realized both effectively and rightly a trenchant manifesto against the insane and mischievous politics of Trump and companions that immediately has a deep impact on the look and the mind, reminding us how this way of thinking and acting could also spread in Europe. And it's already happening, I mean!

Fight Fight Fight is necessary to preserve mankind from all this !

An absolutely loathsome policy................and organised by loathsome people.

This photo and narrative really deserve to be on Explore and I hope it stays there a long while!

Thank you, Keith. Several days into this and my outrage has not lessened one bit. I think it is important that it does NOT subside. All hell has broken loose here, and it's about time...how tragic that kids, LITTLE kids, are suffering for a group of evil men in Washington.

We seem to be losing all compassion and humanity. This separation of children from their parents is terrible and must fill the majority of Americans with shame. Theirs is not the only government behaving in inhumane ways. In Britain our government is treating immigrants appallingly, also disabled and poor people. And we have elected them. What has happened to us as a society

Italy has a new ultra-right, nationalistic prime minister, so I expect more shocking treatment of the immigrants still crossing the Med. So, yes, I know it's a trend in the Northern Hemisphere to be even more cruel than usual to "others." I think the most shocking thing right now is the blatantly evil character of Trump and his Cabinet. They are truly awful people, and actually seem proud of it. The second aspect: the millions of people around the world who are voting for these demagogues. We have all failed, somehow, Jean...and now I have to spend my old age with all of this...

this results in fear and insecurity on both sides.

It's the end of the world... and we know it.

That is true, Katja. Actually, some political scientists predicted this years ago, and climate scientists are predicting an "emigration tidal wave" as the southern hemisphere dries up, crops and animals die, etc.

Yes, so we must be vigilant. Personally, I'm too old to worry about being condemned, or yelled at, or anything else to shut me up. I just wish my old age could have been more serene, but it will not be so.

Wicked is a polite word for this terrible man. Of course, he LOVES making big news and enjoys doing awful things. Well, I should say he doesn't think it's possible for him to do terrible things. Anything he does is great!

1. Vote in November for anyone without an R next to their name.
2. Ditto

Yes, we might pass on a few good people, but it just isn't worth taking the chance.

George Will, a longtime R -- left the party .. and says "do vote for someone on the ticket with a D next to their name."
Never- ever thought it would come to this.

It is OUR country -- not the property of t --- even though he thinks he can do whatever he wants .... wake up time soon, mr t ...
