Night wires

Someone said that the concept of burying wire / cable under ground was alien in the US. Seems they are right!
OK, there is too much territory to do this everywhere, but under towns, it might be more aesthetically pleasing!( - and of course expensive. QED!)

It would, and most big cities and a lot of suburbs have them buried. But, there is no way that a city as small and poor as this one would be able to pay for underground wires. When I went to Japan I was very surprised to see even more wires than we have. In their case, though, above-ground is probably preferable due to easier repair after earthquakes. (QED?)
