Our son has several ... his latest hobby..
None would get as far as you are, Diane : )

But, he could probably get a small one through that 'used to be a sign' ...
He prefers to call the 'quadcopters' .... don't ask me ....
I just listen and watch some of his videos ... when he gets too techie, I call a time-out !

Lol! I have to do that with my grandson. When I can feel my eyes start to glaze over I know I've reached my limit.

Yep, don't even order a hamburger. Forget the fries. Nix the Coke.

Sorry about this but my interpretation of drive thru restaurant has always been exactly that. Rev your car up outside the restaurant, take aim and then drive straight through it with your foot to the floor. At their invitation apparently.
Anything else is pussy-footying around, at least with the language!
American spellcheck doesn't like pussy-footying. Too bad.

It's pussyfooting, there's no second "y" and probably no hyphen. That's why spellcheck has rebelled.

Nope, that would be a terrible faux pas, Andy, not to mention the embarrassment of a Breathalyzer test. Think of the whole phrase as a noun without the actual noun, window, rather than a literal call to action. You might have been misled by our by-golly penchant for shortening some -ough or -ght words out here in hicksville regions. This is done only in the most casual settings, such as a fast food sign or a quick note to a friend. Hence, donut, thot, nite... The old fogey precursor to acronyms such as OMG used in texting or twitter-speak. Anyway, this particular shortening doesn't mean you can take a shortcut with interpretation. Oh no, sir. Usually, Americans are the literal thinkers, but in this case...well...think of it as interpretive jazz.
