Gorgeous. It takes courage to make a B&W rose! ;-)

When this was determined by the film in the camera, I was so often disappointed by black and white flowers that I wouldn't have dared. I never set the camera to BW, indeed. I prefer converting when I process the photo.
In this case, the interest of the image is obviously light and transparency, so the BW was the right choice. And it removes uninteresting details, solves the problem often caused by too much green in the background: green is one of nature's greatest aesthetic issues.

Thank you Francois. A genuine accident as I really meant to shoot colour. The B+W was left over from the last time I used the camera and I had forgotten. I agree about the aesthetic solution that B+W brings. I am also very taken with what this camera (an elderly Panasonic) and a Jupiter 3 lens can achieve. I don't think I possess any other combination that produces images that look like this.

I would like to have a Jupiter 3. It was a fantastic lens. I have to satisfy with my Helios-4 on my elderly Sony Alpha;)
