The mail road between Etne and Skånevik.
Once a week, from 1785 to 1866, the mailman walked this road from Etne and over the mountain to Skånevik and back. This road was part of the national mail road network. In Skånevik, a different mailman would row the mail across the fjord to the other side, where there was another man waiting to take the mail to another place. This is the highest point on this part of the road at 620 meters above the sea level.
