Die Lok wurde 1928 bei Henschel & Sohn in Kassel noch nach bewährten Bauprinzipien der preußischen Staatsbahn hergestellt und beförderte vor dem 2. Weltkrieg zusammen mit 3 "Schwestern" Personen- Eil- und Schnellzüge zwischen Lübeck und Eutin.
