Canopus- from my back yard.

Canopus- from my back yard.
This is a shot to see just what I can get under the very worst situation With a full moon /Light pollution. not much of a shot. 42 shots as the house was starting to appear in the shots. I was able to use the Elements in Sequator to remove all the light and moon pollution from the shot.

I also used my Benro geared head and spacer for the first time much easier to adjust when trying to find stars than a ball head. I can not wait for a night where there is no moon.

Nilgen Look out

Canopus is the very bright star 2/3 of the way from the left next to the large white cloud.

Thank you with the Covid 19 at least I can still try from home. Many times we never try.

Top work there Steve... we novices are a little lost as to what all your gear is.. but that's fine, you do a great job in this field... It always humbles me to think that the lights in the sky.. will still be there unchanged.. millions maybe billions of years after mankind has disappeared..
Keep well.... and keep looking up as they say... Cheers from Dj.

DJ its not at all hard in the northern hemisphere compared to the South.

South Celestial Pole

I find it very satisfying to come home with a great set of images of the stars this one in particular as it is from my backyard..... you are right they will still be here long after they are gone. I am glad you like the shot It brings alive the book my father had on the heavens.

keep safe in these troubled times.

Hi Steve

As always, very impressed by your astronomy shots here!

We never get such a clear sky to even think about it...

Best Wishes, a happy Easter, and stay safe!!

I know we all have our limitations by regions and geography. this shot was very satisfying as it was taken from home but my view of the sky is very limited almost nothing in it but small stars. Canopus was only just visible but so far over that I only got 42 shot when the house started to appear in the shots. this is full moon and city light but look at it i did not even use the "clear night sky" filter as I wanted to see just how much showed.

I hope you enjoy your Easter and keep as safe as you can, times like we have never seen before and dont wish again.
