Hummingbird. 6276661

This is beautiful micritter. Never been lucky enough to see one but they fascinate me and the colours are amazing. I have bits and pieces in the house with hummingbirds on them.

Thank you very much, Marie-Claire. Yes, they are very fast, but they also hover. I used a high shutter speed foolishly thinking that I might be able to get some detail in the wings :).

I have been able to admire them in many documentaries, and also here at ipernity in some photos. They are really charming creatures, and you have captured this wonderfully with the camera. Gorgeous colors and details! A fabulous portrait, R.!

Thank you! So far this year, the only frequent visitors are dragonflies and an occasional hummingbird (rarely a butterfly, etc. but nothing like it used to be a few years ago).

I am having the same experience with insects, including butterflies, this year, R.. :((
To me, it is another alarm sign.

Alarm is right, Politicians have not taken this seriously so far and they may not do so until it is way too late.

such amazing birds. i love the idea that they experience the world at a different way than us - that we appear to be moving quite slowly to them. and this is an amazing photo - great moment, really excellent.
