Thank you, Caludia. This was an accidental photo: I was trying to get bird pictures and noticed the tiny caterpillar right in front of me, so I took it with the tele zoom lens that I had on the camera. This was a "serious" crop.

really nicely framed. accidents like this are the spice of photography!

i saw a moth recently (but couldn't photograph it) that appeared to have plain grayish brown coloring on the tops of its wings and color on the bottom. do you know of such a moth - or was i imagining it?

Thhnk you your comment. I think with a picture someone would be able to identify it, but I think it is difficult to say. I am no expert but I think it could be a butterfly or a moth. The variety of moths is amazing (you only need to google "moths" in Google Images (as I have once) to be amazed.
