We don't live in Norway now, little Rabbit, but in England. We were in Norway for 5 years from 2007 -2012. I loved it almost as much as I do St.Andrews where i was brought up. I don't think there will be ice in this area yet - but I don't know. ;-)

Wow! Very puzzling! I can see what it is, but I cannot exactly explain how the lines (that are lightly raised from the ice) occured.

The unfrozen channels are slightly lower than the thin ice plates, Poly. The reflections come for the surroundings, and I think the black lines must be shadows of the ice plates. Thank you for making me think!

This is probably the simplest photo I have ever taken, Gudrun. No camera adjustments, just point and click. But, like you, I loved the effects of the ice formations.
