A little star for Christmas

A little star for Christmas
The difference in high and low tide in southwest Norway is very small, and if the sea has been quiet there are often fine lines composed of small shells and other bits and pieces left along the strand-line which show up very clearly on the sand. This is just such a one. It is possible to find some real treasures here.

Thank you Christien and Dany. This is the smallest starfish I have ever seen, and there were many turn-stones and other small birds who probably made the most of this free meal.
Have a lovely Christmas. Almost time to relax! :)

That's fantastic Amelia: so versatile, so full of signs of life, such a variety of forms! I love it, I give it a Star!
And you deserve also a star cause today it's your birthday! Cordial congratulations!

Warm greetings, Klaus

PS: can you say, what is that chain of white pieces there to the right from the sea star?

I have looked at those also, Klaus. They resemble very small teeth. I wonder if anyone else has any suggestions. Thank you for my birthday star. :))

Thank you all for your lovey compliments. Season's greetings to all of you at Ipernirty

Late but not yet too late: many happy returns, Amelia!

Could the string of small "teeth" have broken off from the starfish? There is a bit missing on the left.

I don't think so, Gudrun. If you enlarge it to max size you can see more of them at top on right side. The objects are really like pearl necklaces. Perhaps they are parts of plants? ---

There are little chains of red too. I think they may be parts of calcareous seaweeds, so you may have hit the nail on the head, Klaus. :)
