That is very interesting, yet i don't know if the software market will be so happy about the Frankencamera. And on the other hand, many photographers who have to live by making for instamce portrait photography will have to seek for another job. The art photographer will have serious competition. The army will be thrilled by the Frankencamera.

I would love a camera where you can change the firmware too! However I don't think it'll come soon. Too few people can write programs, and therefore appreciate such a camera. The hackable Openmoko phone has just been abandoned by its manufacturer.
