  • Ipernity Fees

    - June 18, 2018 - 2 comments
Well, I've let my membership to Ipernity expire. I'm finding the, almost, $50 / year just a tad too expensive - especailly for the amount of use I get from the site. I've never been able to build much of a friend base here, unlike on Flickr. I've added photos to groups only to have them sit there with no views or comments. For the time being, I'll stay with the free service. I may end up just deleting my accouont altogether. Time will tell.

  • Zepto Ransomware

I may be gone for a bit. You see, my main system was hit with a ransomware virus on July 4th. The virus encrypted pretty much all of my photos and document files. The assholes who did this to me want almost $1,700 USD (2.5 bitcoins to be exact) for the decryption key, but there is no way in hell would I ever send these scumbags even a penny. Sometimes only part of the photo uploads, leaving a large grey band at the bottom (approx 1/3). Other times the photo will upload completely, but the photo has bands of color through it, like an entire row of pixels is missing. You can see an example of this in this shot, though it's not very bad: www.ipernity.com/doc/w9jim/31278993 . Most others are unusable. So, I…

  • Photos Uploading Into Doc Folder

    - June 18, 2013 - 12 comments
I've run into this problem now for the second time. The first was a few weeks ago when there was a mass exodus from Flickr. I wrote it off to the ipernity servers getting hammered. It went away after a few days. Now it's back. Whenever I upload a photo to my site here on ipernity, said photo does not show up on my photos page with my other photos, but gets put into the Docs Folder instead. It doesn't matter if I use the stand alone uploader or use the "Upload photos" link at the top of t…
