Enough with the cookies already

Sunday October 18, 2009 at 12:06AM

I'm glad Linux / open source based web browsers come with the ability of easily blocking unwanted cookies, when browsing the Internet. It's amazing to see just how many cookies get thrown at you when doing your day-to-day web browsing.

I find that, next to gaming related web sites, news sites are one of the most cookie-ridden web sites on the Internet.

In this video, I visit three high-profile new sites; CNN, New York Times, and the Globe and Mail. With just these three websites, my web browser, Sea Monkey, blocks no less than sixteen un-wanted and un-necessary cookies.

No wonder people, who are unaware of such things (MS-Explorer users mostly), have such problems with their PCs and identity theft.
