TheNYC: OMFG

Probably overheard more than once since that billboard for "Gossip Girl"went up in Times Square:

"Mommie? What does OMFG mean and what are those two people doing?"

Times Square isn't what it used to be--families go there on vacation. Showing people in the middle of sex in an area where there's an M&Mstore and a Hershey's Store is uncool in my mind.

TheNYC: More Porn in Times Square

I took this from the second story window of the M&M store. That's ahuge billboard for a Jenna Jameson movie. Nice to see an ad for pornout the window of a candy store. :)

I don't usually feel this puritanical!

TheNYC: Times Square Sunset

Caught this crossing the street yesterday. That's the sun setting overa street intersecting with Broadway--I think it was around 40th or so. I had to take it quickly as the light was changing and unlike LA, carsdon't wait here.

TheNYC: In The ONLY Trader Joes

Yep, there is just ONE Trader Joe's on the entire island of Manhattan. As a result, it's jammed all the time. This is the 12 items or lessline and it runs around the corner and down an aisle BEFORE it gets tothe main area for the lines that are manned by a TJ's employee whodirects you to the next available cashier (out of like 20!). Thisplace reminds me of Fry's Electronics in LA.

Crazy.

But yay, Trader Joe's!! Sugar free Dark Chocolate! 2 Buck Chuck! Cheap/good sushi! Huzzah!

Let's hear it for buying a week's worth of groceries for just $30, toowhile we're at it!

Take that, tiny, over-priced grocery stores!

TheNYC: Waiting for the C or E

There's a trick at the 50th st and 8th ave station for the C & Etrains. Either train gets you to MSG but they each come in on adifferent track. The C shows up in the background there, and the Eshows up just down a flight of stairs, *directly* beneath that track. The catch is no one knows which train will show up first. As a result,we hover at the top of the stairs down to the E train while stayingwithin eyeshot of the C train platform.

Ya gotta be clever in the big city ;)

Come See ThePete's Art in a Gallery!

In or around New York City? Come see the APW Arts Munny Contest and Gallery show featuring custom toy art from some seriously brilliant artists--like ME and TheWife! That's right--starting tomorrow, June 7, 2008, you'll be able to stop by the APW Arts Gallery at 195 Chrystie St Ste 200, New York, NY 10002 and see artwork by myself and my wife Sierra!

The opening is tomorrow from 7-9 so if you can stop by then, that'd be even better--that's when I'll be going. If you can't make it then, that's OK--the show runs from June 7 to June 21. I'll be posting pictures of our work soon, but if you can see it in person, that's really the best.

Oh and our pieces are for sale, too--buy 'em and support us! (Hey, just showing up supports us!)

Check out more about this event at http://APWArts.com/contest
