I FINALLY HAVE BROADBAND!!!

I used to work in IT as a sysadmin at the corporate level, and part of that involved provisioning adsl for businesses.... 2mb symmetric links floating by me all day long *sigh* and even though I could get it for free through work, I never lived in an area that supported it. Not even cable. Now, my local exchange has started supporting adsl, so when I found out one of my neighbours had ditched his wireless link and gone to adsl, I signed up for a 512/512 link and my modem finally arrived today! Yay!

I've never bothered with youtube or any of the other (plentiful) bandwidth hogging sites as it was just too painful on dialup. Now I can waste more time! :P My main goal is to get back in to the good stuff - linux and freebsd. I really miss having fun shit to play with, but all of the updates and latest and greatest stuff can really get annoying when you have to wait for it download over dialup. Not anymore. Since getting out of the IT game I downgraded back to just one PC, so now i've got to slim shady up some hardware to get some cool stuff going. Ohhhh my, i'll finally be able to get back into writing crazy perl and php scripts... ohhh man! How i've missed coding.

Also, I can start uploading some of the video Pete has been taking when we go out on our adventures - score!

Anyway, i'm a little bit overexcited but I don't care - i've got a new toy to play with! :)
