Yay for me!

Being disappointed by two no-shows for my valentines day gig, I decided to get back to what I do best. My mate Pete and I went on an adventure to White Rock Conservation Park hunting a few different types of geckos. We found quite a bit more on the way...

I sold my camera yesterday... not to get out of my hobby, but to get further in! I sold my 30D with 17-85mm lens to make way for a 5D. Now, I know there's probably something new in the works from Canon to replace the 5D, but i'm not sure that I want the upgraded version. I've seen heaps of shots from the 5D, and I just really really like what I see. Sometimes, upgrades can be downgrades. I'm not too sure I like this sensor cleaning vibration stuff either. Maybe it will stand up to the harshness of time, maybe not. Hopefully i'll be able to secure a great deal on one, using the replacement as a bargaining chip of sorts :) I should have my new camera just before Valentines Day, in time for my planned photoshoot... will be a great way to celebrate the purchase and put all i've learnt into practice.

My mate was looking to buy an LCD screen for his parents for Christmas, so I helped him find the best deal. I've always wanted one as I love the picture they present, so I decided to buy one too! It's a 19 inch LG flatron (L1953T to be exact :P). Ohhh man, so purdy! I'm looking through all my photos again as if they are brand new! *drools* Now all I have to do is make sure the colours are represented correctly, as my photos printed out perfectly when edited on my old CRT. I might see if someone will lend me a colour calibrating thingo, although it just might 'work' out of the box.

I've freed up so much desk space too - now I can cram even more clutter and rubbish and crap on here! Yay! And i'm sure it will help with my power bill too. Damn the old CRT's are so huge. I almost needed an engine hoist to get it off my desk :P Anyhoo...

Christmas has come early for this happy chappy :D

I had a bit of an idea for something crazy... as a child I always knew about weevils getting into flour and stuff in the cupboard and making it go all funny and webby and off. I decided to explore that idea...

I found some more cool stuff while mowing my yard. I need to mow it more often... I find a lot of cool stuff when I'm out there :)
