At last...the better news...a woman 'phoned this lunchtime to say the oxygen will be delivered on Monday morning...thank heavens for that.
It does seem to have dragged on for much longer than it need of done, though I suppose like everything that you are waiting for, it probably wasn't too long a time really...
We did some grocery shopping this afternoon...I managed to stay more or less compos mentis as I wound my way round the aisles buying as many ready to eat things as I could...not that there are many actually because Irish women tend to rely on lumps of dead animal from the butchers counter. And I remembered bananas for the potassium they contain...my levels are low and that's something I can control all by myself...but I only like well ripened bananas and these are a bit hard and indigestible. They'll be ok in a couple of days though.
It's been mild and sunny most of the day but we've not yet seen any signs of the promised heatwave...
A hang-glider sailed over the cottage last evening...well, actually it sort of chugged over. I can't imagine anything quite as scary as crossing the open skies in one of those even if it did have very pretty 'wings' in bright stripes...
It sounded as though the engine kept cutting out but Himself told me I was imagining it...
Hot air balloons are another form of transport which give me the heebie-jeebies, especially when they make that awful whooshing noise and flames shoot upwards...don't much care for helicopters either... and actually, I'm none too keen on aeroplanes.
Teresa and Reuben land at 1-15 tomorrow...Knock airport is tiny so there's never any possibility of either getting lost or missing the people you're meeting...but it is on top of a mountain so it's always freezing cold even in the middle of the summer...I've learnt my lesson though, Himself drops me at the door and goes to park the car, and then when they've landed he goes to get the car and picks us up at the door again...he doesn't mind and it saves getting wind burn...
They are going to paint the inside of their shed and put a floor down...will probably start as soon as we arrive home!
