Ran out of ideas...of energy...sense of humour disappeared...all I really wanted to do was sleep...
And that is pathetic, because the weather is good...warm and sunny and everything is growing like mad...the old apple tree has its pretty pink blossom...and I've planted the bath with Pinks, a Delphinium...very dark blue...and bright scarlet opium Poppies...there's just enough room to squeeze some more flowers in...petunias I think, because they last for ages and smell delicious.
Adam and Anna came yesterday afternoon...they've now returned to Wales for a couple of months before moving over here for good...Adam has crumbling discs in his spine and neck and he's trying to collate all the information he'll need for the hospital and Doctors here before they move...he's on morphine but doesn't see kittens or helicopters...we all talked so much that I was like a wet dish rag after they'd gone...
Damien, the oxygen man, hasn't been in touch yet...he's probably the only person in the west of Ireland lugging oxygen bottles about and showing doddery old women how to use them...if I've heard nothing by the end of the week I'll 'phone the pulmonary nurse and see if she can chase him...
We did go out to the garden centre the other afternoon...and I bought an exceedingly expensive climbing rose...the flowers are a pale apricot colour...it's to climb over my shed. And then we bought two cheap garden chairs from the supermarket...bright and colourful and comfy. It'll probably rain for weeks now so we can't get to use them...
Teresa and Reuben are here on the 17th...I think their week will be taken up with finishing their shed off...flooring and such like, though I'm hoping Reuben will stop for an afternoon to take Jack and Alex into the Cave of the Cat...they are both convinced they'll see the herd of flying pigs which belong to Morrigan though heaven knows how they'd react if twenty pigs with huge tusks and glowing eyes really did live down there in the depths of the cave...
We're going to have to stock up with 'instant' suppers and salad stuff for when they are here...cooking is totally beyond me at the moment and Himself can't manage to cater for two more people...he struggles a bit with just me and him.
It's raining now which is good...all the pots will be watered and the flowers refreshed.
