Been spending money again...not much though...no vast amounts have slipped through my fingers.
But I did buy some bright and cheerful pansies...love their dear little faces turned up towards the sun...and a packet of small sunflower seeds. Not the giant ones...these are suitable for growing in pots and come in bronze as well as yellow...and a rosemary, a sweet thyme and two pots of sweet pea seedlings.
And I have a confession...the paint was free. It wasn't really free...but the chap serving me didn't put it on the bill...and err...I didn't tell him he hadn't. He picked the tin up and scanned it...I didn't creep out of the shop with it tucked under my jumper...and it's the expensive sort as well. In black, because I'm going to repaint all the cast iron cooking pots...and he didn't add the vat charge on either, for the plants and seeds...
Now I feel guilty...
Packets of seeds are horribly expensive actually...the sunflowers were €2-50...I suppose I could have picked some out of the birds seeds but they might not have grown very well...don't know how old they are. But two pots of sweet peas with ten plants in each pot were only €1-50 a pot...thought that was very reasonable, especially as you don't have to faff about with sowing them and keeping them warm and finding some don't germinate...
Grocery shopping next...and I managed to go all round the shop without going into a brain fog or needing a quick sit down to get my breath back. Didn't see anyone I knew today...it was quiet enough and there were no bag packers for charity either...
Masses of Easter Eggs mind you...some of those wrapped in acres of pretty cellophane and tied up in ribbon do look too attractive to break open and eat...one of my Uncles sent me an egg at Easter when I was a child which was covered in tiny sugar flowers...it was so beautiful I kept it for weeks, until the chocolate began to get that whitish bloom...then I picked each flower off one by one and ate them very slowly...but I did give my little brother half the egg. He'd eaten his...which wasn't smothered in sugar flowers... the same day they arrived...
I wore the little wrist gadget last night...the light in it went out thank goodness...the results will determine whether or not I need oxygen at home. 95-100 is fine...90-95 is ok...anything under that is thought dangerous...when I got up to go to the loo it was reading 83 so I pretended I hadn't looked...
Himself is taking it back to the hospital tomorrow morning...
Don't think feckin 'great oxygen bottles will add much to our decor...which reminds me that Jenny was hoping I'd not have to wear a mask...I won't...it'll be nasal prongs for me. Don't much care for masks clamped over my face for whatever reason...
