I love my desktop...I’d give it a cuddle if I could. It clunks and whirrs and wheezes and takes ages to get itself together enough to work...but work it does...and ipernity is perfectly grand and causing not a single mite of bother. And I can get all my photos without having to search through every single blessed programme and then have them snatched out of my hand before I can blink...
Anyway....it’s been a busy enough sort of day. Paddy came first thing this morning and trimmed the old lad’s hooves...he said Christy and Henrys were ok and didn’t need anything done this time...he was away to a nearby town to trim the hooves of twelve donkeys who have never been handled before in their lives...they’ve been rescued and are waiting to be transferred to the sanctuary in Cork but their feet are too over-grown for them to travel so far.
Paddy wasn’t looking forward to that job in the least...
Then we made a mad dash into the Doctors surgery before he closed for lunch...magic pills please I said...and he duly wrote out a script and handed it over and said he wasn’t going to listen to my chest ‘cos he could hear me wheezing when I was in the waiting room...that’s hilarious, I replied and beat a hasty retreat before he could take blood or give me a lecture about something or other...
Shopping afterwards which was a total bore because I was a bit sort of wobbly and my brain wouldn’t work so I stood looking at stuff and hadn’t a clue whether we’d run out or not...forgot to get any sugar but did buy a pack of those yummy chocolate brioches...rather wish I hadn’t read the label for the ingredients, but it’s not as though we eat them every day...
The check-outs were heaving with people...but everyone is good-natured and just chats to whoever is standing next to them...no point in making a fuss when the girls are working as fast as they can.
Himself took Millie for a bit of a walk...she likes the town smells, stopping at every tree and lamppost to see who has been there before her...
And we totally forgot to put the laptop in the car...not that they’d fix it over the weekend anyway. I’m going to see if they’d accept it in part exchange for another...its guarantee ran out a week ago... why doesn’t that surprise me.
The ‘phone rang later this afternoon and it was a man who sounded like a person imitating Peter Sellars when he spoke in an Indian accent...he said he was attached to the customer service department and could ‘mend’ my computer over the ‘phone...I told him very politely to push off and he was really cross! He let rip actually and was still shouting the odds when I put the receiver down...
He ‘phones about once every two weeks and usually Himself answers and tells him to go away...you’d think he’d have taken the hint by now but apparently not.
The number was withheld naturally ‘cos I dialled 1471 just in case.
I’ve put a couple of photos on...the garden and the street...might sort a few more out later on.
