The slow cooker needs a bit of tweaking...or at least the recipes do. I cooked a chicken casserole the other evening which was exceedingly watery and the onions...despite being finally sliced, were still a bit hard. So today it's the Hairy Bikers Sausage casserole and I browned the sausages in the pan first and did the same with the onions...put all the ingredients in the cooker while still very hot and it's working perfectly. There's plenty enough for two meals for Himself. Certainly smells good, even if it is minced up dead pig.
And I've mastered the nebuliser which wasn't difficult in the first place...so long as you totally ignore the written instructions. One of the many side effects of the drug used in it is palpitations...I'm getting brief attacks of those...and another is trembling or shakiness...getting that as well...my hands look much like someone with the DT's which makes sewing come under the label of a hazardous occupation...
But I can breathe for longer than an hour or so without gasping and having ominous chesty whistles...so I'll happily put up with the side effects.
And I've resurrected the yoghurt maker...it was lurking in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards which is daft 'cos it's so easy to use and I've been buying commercial yoghurt for weeks...
What else...ah yes. The bathroom radiator is hidden behind a unit of wicker baskets full of my clothes...silly to have hot clothes and a cold bathroom so it's going in my shed...and I haven't the faintest idea where I'll put my knickers once it's gone from the cottage...no doubt I'll find somewhere.
Meanwhile I've been watching videos on YouTube on how to crochet...or at least how to crochet flowers and leaves to use as embellishments on the bags I'm making...having come to terms with the highly unlikely prospect of living long enough to make old bones I've decided I can't possibly expire until I've grasped the basics of crochet...it'd be a bit pissy if I was suddenly yanked off this mortal coil while still practicing double trebles...
Now I'm trying to work out how I can take Jack and Alex to see the bog bodies in Dublin and take my nebuliser with me...and use it. The Museum staff are incredibly helpful and would probably allow me to plug myself in somewhere...the train is a different matter. I'll have to make a few enquiries and see if I can speak to a real live human being rather than a machine...'cos a machine wouldn't know and I'm not holding out much hope for a human to know either. Don't want to be carrying it about, so need somewhere to leave it safely as well...
Still haven't suggested to Caitlin to come along as well...and I expect Jamie will feel left out if he can't come...but he could go in the men's lavatories with his little brothers...otherwise I'd bring them in the ladies...don't want pervy people after them. The Easter school holidays are a likely time...and we'll go everywhere by taxi...saves me walking and will avoid losing any of them. I'd like to take them to the crypt with the skeletons as well...it's not far from the Museum.
Heavens...a seriously boring blog...but I'm still going to post it!
