I found this nasty little story while poking about on the internet and you know how I like horrid stories...
Women were working away in a factory in South London in 1875 when a mouse suddenly jumped up onto a table in front of them and they all screamed in fright...a male supervisor bravely stepped forward and picked the mouse up but it wriggled free and ran up his sleeve to emerge at the neck of his shirt...he had his mouth open in surprise...the mouse hopped into his mouth and he swallowed it.
But...the mouse...frantic to escape the confines of the man's throat, began to bite him and scrabble with its little paws, ripping the tender flesh.
He died soon after from blood loss and asphyxiation.
Didn't say what happened to the mouse.
