We broke a long-standing habit and didn't go shopping today...Martin was due to deliver the hay and we didn't want to be away from home for too long in case he arrived when we weren't there...not that'd it'd much matter.
He came at lunch-time as it happens, but I never care for shopping in the afternoon...we'll go tomorrow and I'll complain 'cos the shop is crowded...
It was Martin's 'help' who delivered the hay...he's as thin as a rake and has bright red hair...always reminds me of a Leprechaun...for a man who is small and skinny he's very strong and rolls the huge bales into the barn for Himself without a bother on him...Himself won't buy small bales for reasons best known to him. Just as well I rarely have to feed the donkeys with their hay because those big bales are a total pig to get an armful off and they're often full of spiteful thistles to boot...and I can more or less guarantee my gloves will have disappeared somewhere.
So, it's been a quiet day. I haven't done much really other than delouse the kettle and clean the top of the cooker...had quite a long dither about buying some more fabric on-line but I'd much rather see it before I decide actually, so maybe we can go into Sligo before too long to the craft shop...they sell the best parrot seed there as well. The craft shop doesn't sell parrot seed...that'd be silly...the newly opened branch of the original craft shop is upstairs in a 'Home and Lifestyle Shop' you know the kind of place, where you look at the price tags and laugh, but there's a pet shop on the ground floor. The last time we went there, the lad in charge weighed Millie on the new dog scales...it was a bit embarrassing seeing the results, so I pretended I didn't know either Millie or Himself and went to look at the baby rabbits instead...
The original craft shop is still where it was on the coast...haven't been there for ages though.
There is a couple of slices of liver lurking in the 'fridge for Himselfs supper...I'll cook them in a casserole with onions and rashers and a tin of tomatoes...can't smell it cooking then...
