Here I am again...and it's been another grim and gloomy sort of a day but I've been playing with my new sewing machine so didn't mind too much. It's excellent altogether...and it's easy to use, which is just as well 'cos I'm something of a phobic when it comes to machines...
With the click of a button it'll go really slowly...love that part because it means appliqué is a million times easier now...then another click and it speeds up for the straight bits...so I've had the instruction book in one hand while I clicked and pressed buttons and got the feel of it.
The postie brought the first Christmas card...it's from an old Multiply friend who is rather an eccentric so maybe he didn't think it odd to be posting his cards at the beginning of November...a couple of years ago he sent me a message to say my birthday present was on its way...he'd known the moment he saw it that it would be the kind of gift I'd like...and so I did. It was a DVD all about the Black Death...another year he sent a beautiful cookery book where the recipes were interspersed with gently humorous anecdotes of a small boy living in India between the Wars...
It's a great pity he no longer writes blogs...we used to have extremely intense discussions and outright arguments sometimes... but we'd always end up agreeing to differ no matter what the subject matter was.
I'm away...back a bit later on I expect.
