Before Himself gave up work for the second time a couple of years ago, I began squirreling a bit of money away...not a lot, and I've spent most of it now, but I had just enough left to buy a new sewing machine.
There's nothing wrong with the one I have, but the new updated version has some extras which I'd like, including the ability to choose the speed control without using the foot pedal...and I know it's just a case of not being heavy footed but the more careful I try to be the more my foot sort of slips...as it were.
Then I'm racing away as though my life depends on it, and the seams end up awful crooked...
And you remember I was grousing about that silly doll's head looking peculiar yesterday...I'd put it on upside down...that's what comes of not reading the instructions properly.
So I put the money on my card and went to the website and they wanted my password...which I'd totally forgotten of course...then I sat and waited for ages for the e-mail with new password and it'd gone into spam. Filled the form in...ticked boxes that needed to be ticked and clicked send. Back it came...please include 'phone number...did that, checked it all and clicked send. Back again...would you like to open a PayPal account...no, thanks all the same for asking...eventually, some twenty minutes after I'd switched the laptop on, I finally reached the magic click to 'make payment' and heaved a sigh of relief when it went through...
Honestly, it'd have been quicker to drive to Sligo to the craft shop...well, it wouldn't, but you know what I mean.
While I was looking to see which machine would be the best for me I came across one which costs £ 4.000...it does embroidery and all manner of fanciful things...scary thought though to spend so much money when you could probably buy a small car for the same amount...
