I've just washed the car keys and about six euro in loose change in the washing machine...don't suppose you actually need to know that, but you might well have heard the clattering and banging as they all whizzed around on the fast spin.
And the fingernails on my left hand have finally recovered from the vicious on-slaught they suffered when someone chopped them off while I was in hospital but those on my right hand are a bit sad and bedraggled...and that is of no particular interest to you either, but it was to me when I finally woke up to find my hands encased in sort of boxing gloves and when they were cut off to see the manicure from hell on both hands...
Kitty picked me up this morning and we went into town...I bought one of the last of those cheap halogen heaters for T and Reuben for when they have their shed and had to get another duvet 'cos I've been using theirs while sleeping on the settee...and I remembered milk and Cornflakes and that sort of thing...
The man who has just laid a new lawn at a new house on the way to town wore special shoes while he was raking the ground...so as not to leave indentations. Now there's posh...who'd have thought about leaving footprints everywhere...I wouldn't. Kitty told me that. And she crossed herself when we drove past the burial ground, at least she kept one hand on the steering wheel...Henry takes both his hands off, which can be scary if you're not expecting it...
The man who did the lawn while wearing special shoes, is the same chap who decks his little bungalow out in a myriad of pretties at Christmas time...it does look lovely actually...there are Santa's climbing the telegraph pole and a sleigh with Reindeer on the roof...it would never occur to us to have those sort of decorations but they are nice to see...on someone else's house.
Himself got up and had a bath and is beginning to feel a little better...he's by no means hale and hearty yet...this dose affected him badly...the worse he's ever been actually. He's back in bed now with clean sheets and I fought with the duvet cover and managed to put a clean one on...I vowed ages ago to ditch duvets altogether and go back to blankets and a proper counterpane...don't know why I didn't actually...
Dog's teatime next...and another load of washing to put on...
