Finally, after having issued quite some forms, signed a multitude of papers and made a bunch of phone calls, the mortgage is settled and I'm moving in July! Still a lot to do, but that's ok. If it wasn't for me being slightly crippled.
What happened: On a certain Sunday, I went home from work on my bike.Through the Dam straat (in Amsterdam that is, behind the Monument on the Dam square), which is always packed w/ tourists. I know that tourists are not used to bikes, and their respective alarming TRRRRING when people get in the way. But that's ok, I'm pretty used to dodging tourists and not getting run over by a taxi.
On this Sunday, I rushed home as I was tired and it was a hectic day at work. I went through the Dam straat, where it was very busy - the combination of Sun, warmth, and a Sunday always floods the terraces. And I already knew that I had to be very careful not to run into/over people minding their own busines. And that's where things went wrong...
Biking on the dedicated and marked bike-path, I saw people walking on that strip. I dodged them, and too late I found another man walking on that strip. I hit him and fell on the street - I went flat on the ground. My hand is grazed, my knee, elbow and wrist are severely bruised, and so is my chin.
This happened about a week ago, and it all still hurts. ouch.
So no sanding or painting for me the next few days....
