Thanks for your visit and favs, Granddesign! I'll do my best to show you more goodies of my work over the time. I'd like to point out that I'm here since yesterday only! :)
A good day for a start as it seems! Happy birthday ipernity!
Yes, you are a mermaid swimming in an ocean full of pictures and streams! :)
Well, what I'm really interested in is what drives you to act as an artist, and to exhibit your work here at ipernity.
Thanks for your warm welcome! :)
Well, I came to Ipernity from Flickr last year after the riots anti-censure, when this place was like a palace in a ball, with lots of artists around. I liked (and I like) the possibility of integrating different media in just one website, especially having a public blog on matters that matter to me. It is a pity that most of the best photographers that came last year have left. I still have my main account in Flickr, since I consider the artistic community there better and bigger, but I'm sort of tired of the dynamics there, and I'm spending more time here lately, because it is a peaceful place and I feel less "stressed" here.
What drives you to act as an artist? It is a need to express myself, like eating to feed your body. I create to give way to my imagination, to my thoughts. It is my way to reflect about the outer world and my inner world. I need to write and I need to do something artistically visual, like painting or photoshopping or photographing, or whatever. To create is like being pregnant all the time and delivering all the time, with the pain and pleasure that that brings. That is to me create. Places like Ipernity allow my to express myself beyond my usual circles of people.
What about you? What is your background? What brought you to Iper? What moves you? Are you psychologist?
I came from fotocommunity.de, Germany's earliest platform for photographers. I was there almost from beginning, when there were only some hundred people, and everyone knew the others. Was rather familiar and mostly friendly then. Easy to get feedback. Then happened the digital revolution - and now they claim to have 600'000 members. Gone was familiarity, gone was quality of photo content and remarks. But yes, the grounder makes big money now. :)
Am I psychologist? Of course, who is not?! But then, not as profession. :)
My background is technical, and I always was looking for a counterbalance to my all-too-often left brain only work. Pictures are my answer and I'm happy again.
"To create is like being pregnant all the time and delivering all the time, with the pain and pleasure that that brings." Thanks for that self description, dear Mermaid. I will remember you by that! And by your creative work. And 'cause Blade Runner is an all-time favorite movie of you! :)
Thanks for this conversation! Conversation start, as I hope.
das ist ja eine feine idee! :-)
da wir uns seit über 4 jahren kennen und du dich auch schon intensiv in meinen blog gewühlt hast, muss ich dir ja nicht mehr viel erzählen. ich freu mich jedenfalls, dass du hier bist. :-)
Thanks to you. I'm going to copy and paste part of my reply into that's me set. A good addition to my own definition of myself. Glad you like it!
PS: Well, some people are more psychologists than others. Yes, we are all a little bit. But, you see, there are the fools who think that can fool everybody, those who use inductive language to make you do what they want, those who have an easy insight into human psyche, and professional ones. So which one of the others are you? :D
Haha, I like your style! Your pictures are so calm and self-contained, but in your writing you're a constant agent provokateur. And you like to determine the rules. :)
What is your profession, dear Mermaid? Would you tell me?
hahhaha...
ummmm, hhhhh, ummm I won't ;D Not for now hahahahhah until you tell me which sort of psychologist are thou :D
Oh provocation is what I call mental stimulation!
Hey, my collages are not self-contained!
OK. I'm a hobby psychologist of the badest sort, Mermaid! :)
Now tell me your profession, if you don't mind. And of course, keep provocating mental response! :)
> I only talk to strangers.
That is a wise insight, 6 of 1. Neverteheless, have the same question as with all of my visitors: How comes that you put so much time in your artwork - and show it here at ipernity?
:DDD I was fearing so :D
Ok, I have a PhD in something, and I work using my brain and other abilities. Humanities not science. Favourite hobbies thinking. analysing, learning, opening my eyes to world, and mental doodling. Favourite Sport, provoking; I wear the boxing gloves just in case. Abilities: I make new words quite easily, just to express myself fullyness. Thinks I hate: fakefullness and stupid-ee-tea. I never give details of my real me online, but all what I have said it is true.
Still waiting for your reply to my last question in my last entry blog... your criteria.... spill the beans... or at least the bins :D
Thank you, dear mermaid, I slowly get a better picture of you! :) PhD in Humanities is all I need to know for now! And regarding the rest of your self-description, ipernity must be a paradise for you! :)
Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you under my contributions!
Hi Mo,
that's true of course - the pictures people show in their stream tell a story or two about the authors.
What I would like to know of you is the same as with all of my visitors: How comes that you put so much time in your artwork - and show it here at ipernity?
Thank you. I appreciate your visits an comments.
i stumbled by chance over a photo sharing site and
i was fascinated seeing what other people were showing
in their pics : either because of another perspective they were
showing or because of the artistic work they presented .. both
attracted me and let me start sharing my work .
i changed from the other site ( one you seem to know too ) to ipernity ,
like many others for known reasons ... and landed here .
i love the atmosphere of this smaller and mo-re european community ...
and i met wonderful people that mean a lot to me meanwhile -
the most important one you know too by now .
... the reason for spending time here is because i love to communicate with
other people .. see their pics , get to know what they're thinking and seeing ,
maybe what they're dreaming .. mundane details out of their world .
i also love to know what they think and feel when they see my pics ...
