Sharpening and resizing

Friday March 28, 2008 at 12:40PM

So... currently I mostly use Lightroom and Photoshop, with different results.  So I've uploaded two pictures from the same scan, finished differently for output.

Which is better?  Or more correct?  This is the kind of thing I find very frustrating to get right, and I have a sneaking suspicion almost nobody else can even see the difference.

Thoughts please

Doing the fibre prints you saw of this scene, with split grades: you get the detail in the darks with one grade, and the detail in the lights with another. It's terribly fiddly. I don't know if that would be a way to do it, and combine the two with layer masks?

See the difference? Well, barely.
