hahaha...I just have read some group rules ;))

Tuesday October 2nd, 2007 at 11:15PM
just found in the rules of a new group...

no, I don't say which one:

"You may only upload a picture to the group if you have commented at least the ten pictures posted before. If you don't leave comments your picture will be deleted. If this happens more often you'll be banned from the group!"

hahaha...

and the moderator believes in this ;)))

I don't object to a few, sensible rules in a group. Preferrably they should be apparent in the group name, already.

For control freaks and attention seekers It must be very tempting to create new groups, especially with a starting group directory, to get this little badge, and be able to ban, delete, rule... oh the joy!

I guess, it's up to us to keep the levels high, by choosing wisely, which group to join.

Strange!

I don't think that's totally unreasonable. I think comments on 5-8 should be enough. Consider this...if you want to join some kind of group it's indicative of you wanting to actually do a little more than post your pictures somewhere. Who wants to be part of a group of egomaniacs that just want to self-promote and receive comments, but never post any anyway?

ABER!! ... it's a free world und man muss den Schwachsinn ja nicht mitmachen!

@butch: but where is the fun, if you get comments like "great", when you know people are "forced" to comment in order to stay in the group?
Posted 2 years ago. ( permalink )
lunaryunapro replies:
EXACTLY, Rübenkraut!!!! The imposition of such rules is a pretty good indicator for what people are really after: number of clicks and comments, no matter what crap people might comment. Obviously there are enough people around who prefer relying on such system and I say all hail to them as long as I am in possibility to choose for myself to NOT belonging to any of those groups.

@Ruebenkraut. The thing that makes no sense to me is that someone would still want to join a group if they felt it was an imposition to communicate with others in the group. As an individual, on iPernity, with a contact list you are already part of a group where it's not necessary to post comments on other people's work. What's the point of joining a group in addition to your iPernity affiliation if you're so offended by the idea of someone actually requiring you be a participant in the group and not just a posting lurker?
