They're getting married soon... and it's going to be my first wedding-pictures experience.
Any good advice ?

Suerte !

if you can, grab another (second) camera too
use one lens as wide open as possible (eg 50mm f/1.8 or 1.4)
use one tele between 50 and 200 (18-200 or 70-200 f/2.8 or 70-300)
try to have a wide angle lens in order to capture wide space (in the church, the ball room, the dance floor)
or
haha... you make great photos, we all know that :-)
I'm sure you will take a lot of great portraits (important)
try to take a glimpse from the early morning (the 'getting ready'), hair and make-up, dressing up and try to capture some natural moments. These snapshots work great in sepia or b/w.
Try to picture these special symbols like the bridal bouquet, all kind of flowers, the rings(!!!), the clothing, the shoes, the parents of bride and groom (very important!), the food (& the menu) and of course the cake and how they cut it into pieces
take care to have a flash and several sets of batteries
because the night...
don't forget to switch to the sports program to catch the bridal bouquet (if the bride throws it)
and yes: an extra battery for the camera or at least the power plug to load the battery if it's down..
take a look at Mike Larson's Interview (English with German subtitle)

Bon shoting !

You can read this and follow the links: http://digital-photography-school.com/wedding-photography-21-tips-for-for-amateur-wedding-photographers
I never did this, but perhaps consider having three camera bodies, two with mounted lenses (a tele and a wide...) and the third for any inconvenience; don't forget the batteries (body grips help, for speed and battery life...), for bodies and flashes...

The only thing that I was happy to have outside was a polarizer to kill those reflections, but it's only useful when you're outside. Of course you'll want to shoot RAW, so you need enough memory cards.
This and the following are some pictures that I took at the last wedding (my 2nd): http://www.ipernity.com/doc/donandre/2583781
They're pretty ordinary, certainly not fancy, but probably at a professional level. The moment is what counts.
But browse through this guy's gallery for some inspiration. He's the best wedding shooter I've ever seen (mostly B&W though). He uses a documentary approach capturing beautiful moments: http://www.jeffascough.com
rodocrozit replies:
I agree with you on the "gear" point of view, you have to forget a little about technology in order to feel the mood and to capture it right.
Thank you again Andre !
