From time to time I play with software. This time I combined ufRAW, qtPfsGUI and TheGIMP, three outstanding open source programs, to experiment with multiple exposures of the same RAW shot. And that's what came out:

Note: I will not start the Week #7 contest --> closed for holidays! My intention is to start an August, Best of the Month Contest and then restart with the weekly contest in September (hoping we'll have a group to make it more easy). Let me know what do you think about it.

This week we had a plebiscite for the shot #9, "Schöner Wohnen", by Aufzynden:

Using the data collected by the fine Carsten's Ipernity and Flickr Visits Graph, I noticed that after less than two months of activity on Ipernity (and almost complete inactivity on Flickr) the visits on my Ipernity account slowly surpassed that on my Flickr account. My network on Flickr is slightly bigger and in the last weeks I uploaded the same shots on both sites. The visits on the single shots are now normally higher on Ipernity (but for some shots Flickr has sudden raises, I don't know why...). Only the old Beauty and the... Beast shot continue to have a continual flow of visits and faves (but it's stably around 50th place in Explore).

What's your experience?

As a side note: the sum of Flickr and Ipernity visits is similar to the visits to Flickr before migration.

Tales from a different culture.

Tomorrow we will make a trip to Alto Adige/Sudtirol. Some days of vacation, before the usual medical check for our Anna Chiara. I will be back to Ipernity August 20th or 21st. Hope to have some new shots (but the weather seems to be an enemy...).

I'm downloading over 5 Gigs of shots from my memory cards.

I hope I can show you a little bit of the fantastic Sudtirol mountains and locations in a short time.

Only a little note to remark that I found some friends disappeared from Ipernity (and someone from Flickr too) during my vacations and I'm sad for a lost occasion to know them better.

I hope Team Ipernity will read this and start to consider enlarging the team to have better time to market.

Another little gallery. Tonight all the peoples were at Jerry Lee Lewis concert (have you seen the Great Balls of Fire movie, years ago?). Tomorrow (last day) I hope I can shot some more cars and bikes and lot of peoples.

I had no sufficient time to devote to my camera, but you can find more serious galleries on the Summer Jamboree website.
