I've Never Pinholed.... Have you?

I'm not an old school photographer - barely schooled, actually.  Until digi cameras, my photo activities centered around the occasional vacation, party, wow-look-at-that-weird (fill in the blank) event.  Some of my old school photo friends have spoken of the joy of creating and using their first pin hole camera and while I like the images, the process seems like a lot of work.

Well... Corbis has made it easier for me/you to embark on this voyage of discovery.  They are giving away templates and instructions for pin hole cameras.  Here is the link

I don't have time now (gotta file taxes, complete some house projects, yadda yadda ....) but soon!

Thought you all might find time for this stuff - looks like fun!

Go for it, I think this photographic technique would be fascinating. There are some interesting pinhole people on flickr as well. Digital is fun and easy but there is something about delving into a more physical technology and technique that to me is very broadening.

I have a pinhole camera sitting in front of me right now. {CK} made it out of a coffee can and gave it a very cool paint job. I have had it for a while and haven't had the time to use it. It just sits and stares at me.....

I'm laughing at the image of Mr. Coffeecan Pinhole staring at you, Tom! You do so many creative things with toy cameras, etc., I bet you'd find the perfect subject for this medium.

My "pinhole envy" is only mitigated by Diana/Holga scripts I use with The GIMP and teh mild vignetting of my 18-55 plastic lens

Haha, pinhole envy! I sometimes use holgaistic photoshop actions and ttv frames, too, but they never quite recreate the real thing. So many cameras... so little time.

A friend of mine called "lichtundschatten" here on IPER made a pinhole and i put it on my 10D. It worked quite well.
Later I tried to make up one myself without success :(
