We're still fighting to stay alive...but we setill need five more teams to join up for our semi-pro rec league before we start operations again... I found out through a call last night that ten front office people will still be paid in full for this season...baseball or no baseball... I am one of those lucky ten...even though I'm just waiting by the phone to take a call every now and then and attend a few meetings... So basically...I'm getting paid $10K just to twiddle my thumbs until we can get the league back and running...

I didn't know that my existing contract was that big of a hassle... It was a weird contract to begin with and when I decided to take the pay cut...my contract was restructured and extended until 2017... I thought I was going to be bought out when the league "folded"...but I'm STILL getting money from them and I haven't seen a ball park in two years...

I was told that since I took over as head of officials...the umpiring was voted best in the league's history... Even more impressive...NOBODY QUIT during the time I was there... Sure I had to tweak the umpire rosters a bit when finances became an issue...but they didn't quit... I aldo made sure that my umpiring squad wasn't left out in the cold either and made sure they got positions elsewhere before I let them go... I read that one of those "fired" umpires is now in AAA and an injury or two away from being in the big leagues... If he makes it...he'll owe me $500 bucks...for being stupid enough to not believing in himself...
