Hello stranger, thanks for the visit :-)

Hope you are feeling good today, hope you are even feeling better after looking at my pictures ;-)

My spouse and I have just returned from a vacation in Canada. We were really impressed by the beauty of this wonderful country, landscape and wildlife are very special. I will upload some pictures in the future and tell about things we experienced along the road.

I was a very happy F****r user for more than 9 months, but the way they responded to their users in the last days made me think about my membership. They have destroyed my trust in them with their actions.

 

As I will delete photos from the other site, I have just started to transfer them using the GM script. Until now, it seems to be working like a charm. In contrast to the Canada photos I started with here, I added some macros of insects and flowers. Hope you like them!

Jasper Lake Panorama

This morning, I have created my largest panorama ever. It was taken on my vacation in Canada at Jasper Lake, only a few steps away from Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16). We stopped because there was an "Animal Jam", caused by a herd of Bighorn sheep. I crossed the highway and took some shots of the lake.

At the left hand side, you can see some bighorn sheep, but most of them were on the road or at the other side of the road. On the other lakeshore, just right of the center, you can see a freight train. That was one thing I did not take into consideration when I started taking the photos. I was not aware of it before the train blew the horns, I was so focussed on taking photos.

I had to resize the picture significantly to 3109 * 512 pixels, it was way too large for uploading to ipernity.The stitched photo was made of 12 handheld portrait oriented shots (JPEGs), camera was set to manual exposure. File size is 16509 * 2719 px (44 Megapixels), compessed TIFF file is approx. 170 MB.

Stitching was done with Hugin, GIMP was used for resizing, no post processing.

I have seen a lot of excellent B&W photos here, giving me inspiration to convert a few of my photos from Canada to B&W as well. I have uploaded a few, hope you like them...

...mittlerweile habe ich Bilder von mir auch bei taggy.jp gefunden. Um etwas zu unternehmen, müsste man leider Japanisch können.

Ich denke, das ist noch nicht das Ende der Geschichte...

Airborne

Thank you all for your kind comments, faves and visits, pushing "Airborne" to the Ipernity front page, the photo made it up to the 5th place in "What's hot" for a few hours. I am very proud about this success because it was the first time for me having one of my shots there.

I have not been very active here lately, due to a stressful week and a stomach flu. It's getting better now, hope to visit you again soon.

Danke an alle, die mein "Airborne"-Foto besucht, kommentiert und gefaved haben, ihr habt es geschafft, es auf die Ipernity Frontpage und für einige Stunden auf Platz 5 von "Das rockt" zu bringen. Ich bin sehr stolz darauf, da es für mich das erste Mal war, eines meiner Bilder dort zu plazieren.

Leider war ich in den letzten Tagen nicht in der Lage, bei Ipernity aktiv zu sein, da es im Beruf sehr stressig zuging und mein Magen-Darm-Trakt ziemlich aus dem Gleichgewicht war. So langsam pendelt es sich wieder ein, ich hoffe, bald wieder mehr bei euch vorbeischauen zu können...
