Bad thoughts are like farts ... (seriously)

Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 09:29AM

... when they sound they don't smell bad! (think about it)

(some may argue against this relation between sound and smell in the case of farts but I think that, at least statistically, it holds ... and, seriously, for the case of bad thoughts I am sure... but you have to do it quickly ... the more you try to hide them the more they will smell if you let them out at the end ... exactly as farts!)

An alternative formulation without the sound/smell property could be:

"Bad thoughts are like farts ... we all make them, but always (try to) hide them"

or maybe

"Bad thoughts are like farts ... you should never let them out in front of a woman" (this is a joke ... you should)

Or just

"Bad thoughts are like farts" :-) (this is not a joke!)

Well, never mind the bollocks..
What you say is true.
But I am experiencing it in reverse!
If you put the word joy in (nearly, hehe) every sentences, joy becomes part of your life.
And laugh.
Honestly, I doubted that for age.
Nothing better than to try it!
I did, I do, I'll try to keep on going!

Nice strategy :-) ... but personally, I never take medicines ... I prefer to fight with the real thing ... if you win you become stronger and then it is not easy to get sick again :-)

I am not sure :-)

They say that we must ignore our bad thoughts. What I propose it to "share" them freely with friends. As we do with farts ... only our close friends listen to them :-)

does freely mean gratis in this case? :o)

Panayotispro replies:
No! :-) ... freely means without guilt. Religion teaches guilt in order to give forgiveness. But friends could offer this service more effectively ... we are in the peer-to-peer era anyway :-)

ileanaa replies:
well, to me religion teaches self-reflection, not guilt... and a step towards being self-reflective is to allow yourself to be surprised and make sense of surprises. there is no negative thought like guilt in that, but 'pure' freedom (libre and gratis) :o)

Panayotispro replies:
Yes, religion is a wide term. I had in mind the mainstream approach of "don't do this", "don't do that", which we experience at least in Greece. Of course, if one goes deeper, religion ends up to self-reflection, which is actually my point: we can reach the "destination" without necessarily passing from the "religious" (in the mainstream sense of the term) path ... maybe :-)
