Summer Solstice

Saturday June 23, 2007 at 02:58PM

21st of June was the summer solstice for nothern hemisphere (and winter solstice for southern, of course).

Solstices are believed to be sacred events.

The famous end of the Mayan long count is also a solstice on 21st of December, 2012.

It's nice to have the longest day.

No problem. As far as I can see from the calendars, the proportion of day to night has just changed by 1 minute today. It was the same between 21st and 23rd, in terms of minutes though :)
