faster & faster

I'm uploading pics at a faster rate now in an attempt to decrease my backlog.

As you know, my modus operandi is to take a lot of pics quickly.

I recently spent a weekend in Fukuoka. I took 1,000 photos, 96% of which I will post. As an experiment I recently uploaded a whole album in one day. Most of the pics have hardly been viewed. I did learn this....

Most of my viewers are anonymous.l

Many viewers just look at the latest 3-6 pics.

A few of you go through and at least scan what I've uploaded since the last visit.

I can only repeat that the best way to view is by album slideshow.

Have you tried the new version of slideshow?

Yea, Jake, sometimes it it really hard to follow your stream. I wish sometimes you give your pictures more time. You have an extraordinary view and you detect so easy special perspectives in your environment...:

Why don't you take a breath if you see something and give yourself the calm to finish the pictiure in every aspect!

Hope there is not the devil chasing you while walk for a shooting ;-)

its not pictures that need finishing, but slideshows!
The point is I make slideshows :)

Thats a fault of ipernity. I know lots of people have been asking them to change that feature, but I guess the "important" people havent been asking...

i solved a similar problem by dividing my contacts into several categories: 1° family 2° friends, 3° contacts, where some are in one category but not in the other, so i can (at least roughly) select out what i want to see.

Aha ... you want us to view entire albums with slide show function. That seems logical with your massive amount of images. I didn't think of this myself. You should maybe write it in several places of your profile.

The album you pointed to is very nice as a slideshow; maybe still a bit long.

The new slideshow unfortunately doesn't want to run from time to time on Linux. Additionally the 3D stuff will probably never run on Linux.

The problem I have with the normal stream is that people come to the latest image and then work backwards... :)

Yea. You post a serie maybe every day a new pic and at the end you have to rearrange them in the stream to get the right "subsorting". I discussed this once with the team in berlin, aftwerwards they gave us the option to change the upload date. Is quite unconfortable to process this on many documents...

I do the contrary. Imho it is not so good to flood viewers with photos. Believe me I have 1000's, will show less than 1% of them.

there is not enough time for that.
on "flickr" it's even worse.
if you want people to see your work,
you have to join 100 groups or more.
i think that's why.

and sometimes people also have a daytime-job.

I think I manage to view them all. I may miss some but I try not to. This latest album is (as usual) really good, IMHO. I thought you somehow cloned out the people, since you see huge scenes with buildings and no people! But I guess it is cold there now and you just get up early in the morning before the temperature warms up and the crowds arrive?
Also, I agree with Eike that the ipernity slideshow functionality in linux needs work.

i really admire your work!! sometimes i browse latest updates from my network and when i have only little time, i only 'jump' on those of you who really stand out (even more than usually) and come back to visit your stream more closely later. slideshows is indeed the best way for viewing.

I think Ive solved my problem by having the first 2 pages of my stream a selection. From the 3rd page on the stream is complete and public.
