Mondfinsternis

Morgen früh gegen 4:00 ist eine totale Mondfinsternis. Und wahrscheinlich bewölkt...

Warranty over, device dead

I just love modern technology. It breaks down as soon as the warranty is over.

My IXUS 50 has focus problems and can't focus most of the time, despite cleaning etc. it seems to be gone. My EOS 300d today started to overwrite pictures (might be the CF card though). I took a couple of 100 pictures at a ballooning competition and the pictures I took in three ours are gone. This sucks.

I am seriously considering going back to film, my trusty EOS50e still works perfectly despite being 15  years old. No problems with dust on the sensor, battery life beyond the range of days, eye control and all the nifty things you need. So maybe I'll go analog again... Especially as a decent slide scanner is much below the price of a decent camera.

How to include your latest photos in your webpage/blog/...

I revamped my homepage and wanted to include the latest pictures I uploaded to ipernity. This is quite easy done in php, as IP provides a feed of your latest pictures as a php-array (see the feed help page)

The code I ended up with is as follows:

<?php
include 'www.ipernity.com/feed/doc?user_id=nils&only=photo&format=php';

$size="t";
$number_of_imgs=14;
$linebreakafter=7;

print("<div class=\"ipernity\">");
for($i=0;$i<$number_of_imgs;$i++)
{
        printf("<a href=\"%s\">\n",$feed["items"][$i]["link"]);
        printf("\t<img src=\"%s\" width=\"%s\" height=\"%s\" alt=\"%s\" />\n",
                $feed["items"][$i]["thumbs"][$size]["url"],
                $feed["items"][$i]["thumbs"][$size]["width"],
                $feed["items"][$i]["thumbs"][$size]["height"],
                $feed["items"][$i]["title"]);
        print("</a>\n");
        if( ($i+1)%$linebreakafter == 0 && $i > 0)
                print("<br />\n");
}
print("</div>");
?>
