So wie es ausschaut, werde ich wohl hierher ziehen mit meinen Fotos. Das schöne an einem Umzug ist: man findet neue Freunde. Die alten Freunde bleiben, manche ziehen um, manche bleiben, manche verschwinden. Aber so ist das Leben, wenn nichts neues passieren würde, wäre es langweilig, nur durch Neues wird man zu einem besseren Menschen. Das klingt jetzt irgendwie viel zu philosophisch für die bloße Tatsache, dass meine Fotos jetzt auf einer anderen Webseite landen...

Orangerie

Gestern zum ersten mal das Schlossgartenfest besucht, ich bin ja auch erst seit etwa 10 Jahren an der Uni. Eigentlich ganz nett, wenn nicht diese ganzen Burschenschaftler dazu führen würden, dass ich ihnen gerne eigentlich die Fresse polieren möchte... Abgesehen von ihren politischen Ansichten, die zurecht vom Verfassungsschutz beaufsichtigt werden, sind die meisten auch noch arrogante, schlecht erzogene Volltrottel (um kein schärferes Wort zu benutzen).

Das Fest an sich ist aber sehr nett, wenn auch ein wenig zu Möchtegern-Stilvoll manchmal. Und ich glaube, wenn man tanzen könnte, würde das ganze auch noch mehr Spaß machen.

Tja... Neologismen führen manchmal zu komischen Assoziationen.

Teeanbau

Ich habe meine Bilder von den Azoren, die ich im Juli 2005 gemacht habe, nochmal durch mein Bildbearbeitungs-Script gejagt und siehe da, sie sind besser geworden. Jetzt also hier die etwas besseren und stärker aussortierten Bilder. Und irgendwie fühle ich mich da gerade richtig urlaubsreif...

Ich habe für meine Kamera einen alten Speedlite 380 Blitz, der direkt auf die Kamera kommt. Wie bekomme ich den am einfachsten von der Kamera weg? Kabel oder Drahtloses Blitzsystem? Was nehmen? Was kostet?

Was empfiehlt sich, falls ich mir einen neuen Blitz zulege? Canon oder Metz? Was sind eure Erfahrungen?

Fragen über Fragen. Und nichts bei Amazon zu finden...

Ich spiele gerade mit jUplaodr herum. Wenn man unter Ubuntu einen Haufen Java-Interpreter installiert hat, ist meistens der gcj voreingestellt, den jUploadr nicht mag. Mit sudo update-alternatives --config java kann man dann einen Interpreter von Sun wählen und es geht.

I just contacted the support, why pictures aren't rotated in the original sizes. I got the fastest response I ever had from a technical support, not 10 minutes later I had the explanation (They don't change originals, what I think is a good thing (TM)).

This response was even faster than the responses I get from my colleague sitting at the desk opposite mine if I ask him stuff on programming. His responses usually start directly after the questions, but they don't end before 20 minutes passed ;-) (which means I learn a lot more than I want to on programming...)

So, Chapeau Ipernity! I am happy to see that there actually exists good customer support :-)

This is work in progress. I am trying to find information on photographer's rights in Europe, which I want to compile and summarise here. For now it is just a link dump in various languages :-)

So, even BoingBoing discovered flickr censoring stuff....

700 Photos in one weekend. And now I have to sort them, the good into the pot, the bad into the crop...

I think I need to get a more efficient workflow and take less pictures.

I have got a SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB card, which is fast, reliable and generally good. I have got a no-name 2GB card, which is reasonably fast and works. Now I bought a 4GB Agfa card and it produces lot's of errors and is very slow... I think I have to try another 4GB to see if it's the camera or the card. But my guess is that the card sucks. Do you have any experience with these Agfa cards?

I tried to digitise the slides I took in 1998 in Portugal using an old slide projector and my digital SLR to directly photograph the slides.

Dirty Digitiser

It went quite well, most of the time the automatic white balance etc worked. Some needed manual treatment. I am not yet sure if it is actually faster than using a slide scanner. I will post the same images digitised with a slide scanner soon.

Any fancy solutions like a GPS enabled camera? Or just drag and drop in google maps? I am currently experimenting with carrying a GPS and later correlate the track to the images, but I have not yet found a satisfying solution (mostly my GPS sucks...)

Gone for a week, see you then. Hopefully I can post some nice pictures from the alps...

As you might already have noticed, I'm back from holidays. And now I have to fight the cultural shock, there is much to much people around, it's to noisy and everything.

For some reason people above 2000m where all nice and smiling. As soon as we got below 1500m altitude we met the first frustrated and frowning people. Maybe it has something to do with the air...

Ich würde irgendwann nächste Woche mal hierhin zum Fotografieren wollen: das ist das alte Krankenhaus in Forchheim. Das würde sich anbieten zu einer Franken-Ipernauten-Exkursion... :-) Mein Vorschlag wäre Donnerstag, 20. September, Treffen 17:00 irgendwo in Forchheim... Wärt ihr dabei?

[EDIT] Nachdem sich herauskristallisiert, das unter der Woche nicht so brilliant ist, wie wäre es am Samstag drauf, 22. September gegen 14:00?
