I just love modern technology. It breaks down as soon as the warranty is over.
My IXUS 50 has focus problems and can't focus most of the time, despite cleaning etc. it seems to be gone. My EOS 300d today started to overwrite pictures (might be the CF card though). I took a couple of 100 pictures at a ballooning competition and the pictures I took in three ours are gone. This sucks.
I am seriously considering going back to film, my trusty EOS50e still works perfectly despite being 15 years old. No problems with dust on the sensor, battery life beyond the range of days, eye control and all the nifty things you need. So maybe I'll go analog again... Especially as a decent slide scanner is much below the price of a decent camera.

Allerdings gibt es leider auch beim Film Staubprobleme ... :-(
(hatte letztens mal wieder einen KB-Film fertig, Fixation und JPEG-Scan auf CD-R: 8€, musste aber noch massiv stempeln, um die weissen Staubfäden aus den Bildern zu bekommen)

As for the price of a slide scanner: it is also quite hard to find a good camera at a low price :-) I haven't found yet a camera which I really liked (the last one was said EOS50e 15 years ago...)
To cut it short, all this rant is about: This is supposed to be the future, where is my jetpack?

Einen Scanner besitze ich leider nicht, aber die Scans vom Fotoladen wären mit 3000x2000 Pixeln Auflösung eigentlich akzeptabel, wenn halt nur die Körnung ein wenig feiner wäre ...
6MP müssten ja theoretisch die Auflösung vom KB-Film sein!?!

Irgendwie ist aber auch google da unkooperativ und will mir keine gescheiten Werte für das Auflösungsvermögen von Diafilmen geben :-(

Vorallem, bei der neuen Canon 1Ds mit 21 MP hiess es ja, "jetzt müssen viele Objektive neu berechnet werden", das hätten sie ja bei KB-Film dann auch schon gemusst?!?
Was mich aber fasziniert hat, ich habe letztens mal wieder einen Diavortgrag (über Tibet und das Himalaja) gesehen, und die Qualität der Bilder auf der Leinwand war unglaublich! :)
Also bei Projektion muss die Digitaltechnik definitiv noch aufholen ....
(oder man lässt sich Digitalfotos auf Diafilm belichten, das geht natürlich auch)
