My company is hiring software professionals now, so I'm receiving lots of crap resume traffic. Here's the top 3 ways not to get hired:
- Put this line in your cover letter: I believe that my combination of technical skills, consulting experience and business sensibilities would serve CompanyName well in this position.
- Send the resume from your work email address. Provide all of your work contact information. Put all of that on your resume. Make sure your resume has no dates on it.
- Include your resume in your email by copying the binary and pasting it into the body.
Sheesh... at least it has good entertainment value!
