High activity (soon)

I'm preparing myself to upload more pictures. Got to meet my wife in the pub first, though. A rare day of sunshine means the chance for a post-work drink cannot be turned up.

Low activity

I've been so busy with work but after today things should calm down a bit and I'll post some new photos. I keep meaning to...

On the music front there's not much to report. I'll dig out and up some more old tunes but there's no activity on the new music front as this takes a bit of time and effort, whereas taking a photograph is not quite so labour-intensive. While we're on music I should mention that I saw Easy Star All Stars at the Jazz Cafe in Camden (London) on Monday & they were great. They did most of Radiodread and a few from Dub Side of the Moon and mixed it all up brilliantly. Quality stuff. If you don't know what I'm talking about, google them or mail me for more info. Also had the pleasure of a great DJ set from Soft Cell's Dave Ball in my local pub! I'll maybe post the full story about that one some time.

Finally just want to say how great it is here. Really looking forward to having more time to look at all these great photos (without all the noise of blurry cameraphone shots of strangers tanked up in bars with their mates etc etc)

48 hour summer

That's what Radio 4 promised this weekend. The sun has finally made an appearance. Yesterday morning I went for a long walk and came back with a large haul of images. Unfortunately I had to work in the afternoon amid the chaos and crowds at the Tour de France. Anyway things are looking up.

Once again on my travels I had the increasingly common experience of a security guard telling me I couldn't take pictures. It is getting virtually impossible to shoot any building these days. Sadly therefore I am unable to share the beauty of the underground car park at Norton Rose's new offices near Tower Bridge. You'll have to take my word for it.

Music

The rain never stops. There is nowhere colder and wetter than England in June. OK, maybe that's not entirely true but that's how it feels. I am huddled around an electric heater as the main heating in my block has been switched off, what with it being Summer and all. Even the rabbit is shivering in his fur coat. I wish I was back in Greece.

Anyway, you will find more music has arrived in my corner of Ipernity. It's not slideshow-specific this time - just as an alternative to silence. I hope you enjoy it.

Slideshows

Day 4. The best thing here for me is the slideshow though the functionality is still quite basic. I've just knocked together a couple of slideshows out out photos from my flickr simplicity set. It's fragmented into two sets "colourful" and "geometric", padded out with shots from the same shhots that didn't quite make the grade originally.

Both sets have a suitably ambient accompanying audio track. I don't understand how the feature to change the playlist works yet - I tried putting two tracks into an album to see if they appeared in the popup which appears. They didn't. I don't know if anyone can help me here...

As I'm on a free account and I'm uploading more photos to feed the slideshows plus the odd audio track, I've been restricting the size of my photos using the jUploader. They seem a bit dodgy compared to the resizing flickr does. It may just be my eyes though.

Feathering the nest

Day 3. I had planned to empty my mind and talk a walk with my camera to see what came up. The weather here is poor (Glastonbury weekend, of course) so that put a stop to that. As a result I'm spending a delightfully lazy day, putting off little chores in favour of kicking around in Ipernity & Flickr.

I've just had the pleasure of viewing Jake's slideshow with musical accompaniment. What a feature! I think it can only get better here - let's hope they push the envelope as I think this has great potential as some kind of multimedia sharing extravaganza.

Rabbit report: Myxi was full of beans this morning, charging up and down the hall and back and forth behind the bedroom curtains. Eventually wore himself out and dozed off in the kitchen.

Just arrived

I came back from two weeks holiday to find the German Flickr censorship issue filling a lot of posts and comments. Though this doesn't affect me in the UK (yet), oddly most of my favourite Flickr people are from Germany so I've kind of followed them here to keep in touch. May be my imagination but things seem eerily quiet on Flickr at the moment, possibly because being away I haven't posted anything new - we'll see...
