Ilford HP5+ at 3200iso with Ilfosol S

Monday July 7, 2008 at 03:20PM

I really didn't expect to get any results. but it works

Ilford HP5+ iso400 pushed to 3200, developed with Ilfosol 1:9 at 20 C° for 20 minutes, for the fist 10 minutes, use soft agitation -10 seconds every minute-, and then hard agitation -5 seconds every minute- for the second 10 minutes.

Ilford does not reccomend to use Ilfosol S and HP5+ @3200iso but I do

And here are some results:

get a Paterson tank, I bought one from ebay and it was about 10€
then get the liquids. just tell me which film do you want to use and I will recommend the developer and fixer for you.
You don't need enlarger right now, just try to learn how to develop films, then scan / print them on the studio. only for the beginning.

and I will help you for sure :)

you need these products, at lest two of them :)
in my case, I used Ilfosol and Rapidfix
Both of them are good products.
You need also a thermometer

Nice work! Did you ever try Tetenal Emofin? Should be excellent for that purposes.

No, I really didn't ever use it. and I can't find it in my city.
But I am moving to Rodinal instead of Ilfosol or Microphen.

Great !! Beautiful results - astonishing. I remember my developing times( 35 years ago) we used mostly Emofin-developer and HP5, too, but it was really grainy...

ِِِ replies:
This is the advantage of using 400 iso films, less grain, sharp results with ilfosol s
