I've spent a couple of hours tonight trying to translate parts of ipernity into Swedish ... so I've spend some time thinking about what I miss about ipernity and the thing that comes on the top of my list is the ability to hand out what Flickr call guest passes (picasa has the same funtionality).
I would really like to be able to hide albums/documents from the general public but at the same time be able to send people an URL so they can view an album. I just checked my Flickr account and I've got 640 pictures there but if I check without being logged in I've got 240 pictures ... those 400 pictures, 2/3 of the total number, are pictures that I hand out guest passes to. So this is something I really miss.
Why guest passes? Well, I can't expect that all the people I know would register at ipernity to see pictures from a meeting etc, however they will follow a URL.
So I hope that ipernity will get guest passes soon.
