creative promotions @ Beijing Olympics

Friday August 22, 2008 at 10:44AM

Modern Olympics is a battlefield not only for athletes, but also for brands.

The following are some impressive ones that can stand out from the noise:

Bike-powered Mini Cooper:

(I've seen lots of Mini Cooper cross-over promotions, but this one is really great and eye-catching in Beijing!)

Samsung private pods:

(You can enjoy Olympics actions in your private pods. :) Looks weird, but seems to offer a lot of fun. )

Condom hijacks Olympics:

Love Sports, even when it breaks your heart:

(Nike came up with a new advertisement immediately after famous athlete Liu Xiang quit the game at the last minutes because of severe injuiry. To give a brief image of how influential this issue is in China, you can just imagaine what the Americans will respond if Michael Phelps quit all swimming competitions in last minute @ 2012 London Olympics.)

I think the copy writting is fantastic:

LOVE COMPETITION

LOVE RISKING YOUR PRIDE

LOVE WINNING IT BACK

LOVE GIVING IT EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT

LOVE THE GLORY

LOVE THE PAIN

LOVE SPORT EVEN WHEN IT BREAKS YOUR HEART
