I thought it was a great article and I agree with the idea that photography is about "showing what it is to be human" or for that matter showing what it's like to be a mountain, or a snowflake, or a dog, or a sunrise or sunset. If you can capture the essence of those things and connect with your viewer on an emotional level you will succeed. And of course there is always room to, in my opinion for those who enjoy the technical side of photography as well but I do agree it matters less than the connection that is created.
