what is your favorite word? sometimes we have different favorites in different languages, but me i love the words "among" and "beyond" in any language. actually don't know them in many... in german it is "zwischen" (which also means between) and "jenseits". am actually quite partial to "jenseits"... in french it is "parmi" and "au-delà"...
which is closely connected to my favorite time of day, twilight. i love the word too. in german even more "zwielicht" but also "dämmerung"... pure poesie. it is that time that stands still, the magic hour, when things are born. change. shift. unnoticed. when rocks move without anyone seeing it clearly. the corner of your eye vision only.
to my chagrin i learned the other day that there is no french equivalent. is that true? can that be true?

At the moment i think my favourite word is "discombobulated". It's a great word for what it describes, but also, it's a damned good word to get your mouth around.

But there are others as well. Most of them mainly for the way they sound... But as most of the time, right now I can't think of any others...
I'll come back on this, when may brain returns...

as for favourite words, this is a question i adore, since i loooove words and languages, but it's hard to answer.
- in Finnish, it's definitely "uskomatonta" (meaning 'unbelieveable') i like it because of the way it sounds.
- in English, i think "labelable" is funny to pronounce :D
- for Dutch, my native language, i got some words from the Antwerp dialect i love: "boemmerskonte" (translatable as a "shithole", though less vulgar) and "goesting" (lust for something - not sexually - i can't find an English equivalent)
(do edibles count? if so, i'd definitely go for 'tiramisu')
